After penetration, discard the rst

drop of blood with a clean tissue

paper or cotton. Then gently

squeeze the punctured area to

obtain blood. But be attention

NOT to smear the blood sam-

ple.The volume of blood sample

must be at least 0.7 microliter

(

actual size).

Choose a different spot each time you test. Repeated punctures in •

the same spot may cause soreness and calluses.

Before you decide to do AST, please consult your health •

professional rstly.

Since the rst drop of blood usually contains tissue uid and •

serum, which may affect the test result, it is recommended to be

discarded.
